Moldova's Children Ministries
By Yelena Surguy
God poured out His blessings in Chicaresti, Moldova as Vicki Eberly and Patti Blake launched their Vacation Bible School ministry at a kindergarten school in the Communist village. They were greeted in contrasting ways. Some teachers were eager to participate in the program, while others peered out the school's windows afraid to work with the Christian group.
Without hesitation Patti and Vicki pulled out the equipment and
began their activities. Balls flew up in the air as children energetically
pulled a large parachute up and down. They were captivated by their
achievement.
After a glance at the playground's faded metal and
wooden equipment, the rest of the team members knew that this
was a community project that needed help! The team quickly gathered
paint, brushes, wood, and a welder to restore the prison-looking
playground to a bright and inviting place for children.
The teachers that worked with the VBS program were so excited
that the team made the effort to bless the children. This made
a significant
impact on the community because the village has more than 400 kindergarten-age
children.
"Praise the Lord! God has not forgotten these little ones and you have all made this possible," said Bill Trimper, director of development and Moldova team leader.
